M. Ronald Milmed, P.E., C.S.E., C.P.G.
Mr. Milmed has over 40 years of experience in structural engineering and geology. He joined Bliss & Nyitray, Inc. in 1968 and was a Vice President from 1977 until his retirement in 2005. During his tenure with the firm he was closely involved with every phase of project management for many types of major projects. These include convention centers, sports facilities, educational facilities, commercial buildings, hotels, airport facilities, parking garages, hospitals and mixed use developments.
He has extensive experience in sub-soil exploration, foundation analysis and design, supplemented by active participation in several technical societies, both engineering and geological. This experience aided in providing optimum foundation solutions in consultation with a project’s geotechnical engineer.
Mr. Milmed became involved in most of the firm’s projects, whether during foundation design, superstructure design or specification writing. He has very strong investigative skills that are used in studies related to structural distress, renovations and restorations. Mr. Milmed has served as Project Principal and Project Engineer for a large variety of structural design projects.
Among his more recent projects was the $1.2 Billion North Terminal Development at Miami International Airport in which he was the primary project wide Structural Engineer. His duties in that role included the review of Construction Documents prepared by several different engineering firms. He was also the Project Principal and Manager for the remedial structural work at the Orange Bowl Stadium.
